Description
A New Artistic Approach: Fused Dried Flowers in Glass
The series of fused dried flowers aims to encapsulate living matter within glass, representing an innovative technique in the realm of art glass.
- Materials Used: Dry red roses, carnations, and palm leaves are nestled between two colored sheets of flat construction glass.
- Fusing Process: The glass is then fused at a temperature of 950 degrees Celsius. As the glass heats up, hot air escapes, resulting in distinctive shapes and causing the top layer of glass to inflate.
- Transformation of Flowers: The dried flowers undergo a transformation into carbon, becoming beautifully outlined within the glass.
This technique is what I refer to as vitrographic.
