Description
This artwork is inspired by the Jerusalem Icon of the Holy Mother of God, one of the most revered images in the Orthodox Christian world. For me, it also carries a deeply personal meaning, as it is connected to a cherished memory of my grandmother, who still preserves the original icon as a treasured gift. Years later, I encountered its image once again during my pilgrimage to the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem—an experience that left a lasting impression on my heart and inspired the creation of this work.
Created on glass—a material symbolizing purity, light, and resilience—the icon combines the spiritual heritage of Orthodox tradition with contemporary interior aesthetics. Glass is an ecological and fully recyclable material that allows light to become an integral part of the composition.
The delicate LED backlighting behind the image creates a soft, radiant glow, enhancing the beauty of the details and transforming the icon into both a spiritual symbol and an elegant accent for the modern home. It serves as a bridge between tradition and modernity—a work that brings blessing, serenity, and light into the space it inhabits.
